Here Are Some of the Common Mexican Meals and Recipes

Mexican Food can spice up any family meal, no matter the season. Mexican Food is a healthy and delicious alternative to your everyday meals. Interestingly, Mexican food can vary from one region to the next due to differences in climate, geography, and ethnicity of the native inhabitants. These diverse populations were also influenced in different ways by the Spanish. The beef-producing regions of the northern region are well-known, as are the meat dishes. Southeast Mexico is famous for its spicy chicken and vegetable-based dishes. Let us take a look at the most important menu items for a Mexican meal.

Chilies and Guacamole

The milder the flavor of chili, the larger it is. Large Poblano chilies can be stuffed and eaten as a main dish, but the small habanero is fiery hot. A quick tip: To find out if a dish has spicy ingredients, use the phrase “es Picante”. Often, the hotel menus will list dishes that are not suitable for tourists. This is avocado mashed with chilies, onions, and cilantro. It can be used as a dip or garnish.

Tortillas are a staple Mexican food that has been enjoyed by many generations. They can be made from flour (common in Mexico) or maize (the traditional method, which is still the most popular in the south). Most tortillas are served with a meal, just like bread. They can also be used in many other dishes.

Quesadillas and Mole Sauce

These are tortillas filled with cheese that are folded and grilled. This basic dish is best served with beans or a small salad. It’s great for those who don’t like spicy foods. Mole sauce is a rich, creamy sauce that uses a unique combination of chilies, chocolate, and many spices. It can be red or green, depending on the ingredients. Most famous are the moles of Puebla, Oaxaca and Oaxaca. These are why they are called ‘mole poblano’ or’ mole Oaxaqeno’. Although turkey is the most traditional choice, this sauce is mostly served over chicken.

Tortillas With Chicken and Chilies

The majority of Mexican cuisine today is based on the traditions of Native Americans including the Aztecs, Mayans, and Spanish colonial-era cooking methods. Quesadillas, a flour tortilla or corn tortilla with cheese (mostly Queso Fresco), meat, chicken, and pork. This traditional food is dominated by chile pepper. These foods are vibrant because of the variety of vegetables, such as red peppers and green peppers, as well as broccoli, cauliflower, and other radishes found in Mexican cuisine.
